The humble wooden spoon has been voted the most useful kitchen gadget of all time. Waitrose Food Illustrated magazine brought together a panel of 33 of the most important people in the food world and they agreed that this unsung hero is a kitchen must-have.
The best ones are made from beech or olive wood, there's one for every job - we even have one that measures a huge 50cm, perfect for those cooking for an enormous crowd. We also stock a silicone one, which while not technically a wooden spoon, does a brilliant job.
The voting panel - which included Jamie Oliver, Prue Leith and Raymond Blanc - also voted the plane grater, KitchenAid Mixer, stick blender and Magimix into the top five - all products you'll find at Divertimenti.
