James McIntosh demonstrates what it's like to be on top of the world

It’s not surprising that one of our most popular AGA demonstrator’s, James McIntosh, awoke in Paris this morning feeling on top of the world having last night won the prestigious Gourmand Award for 'Best in the World' Cookbook in a Series for his ground breaking first book ‘mix’.

James joins other high-profile celebrity chefs and food writers, such as Heston Blumenthal and Rachael Birmingham & Kim McCosker, as Gourmand World Cookbook winners this year, following the lavish awards ceremony held last at Comédie Française in Paris. Previous winners include Prosper Montagne's Larousse Gastronomique and Harold McGee's On Cooking.

James’s winning book ‘mix’ is the first in a series of four pocket-sized books. It is a guide to basic proportions in cookery, giving the quantities needed for simple, everyday family food. The book contains over 170 recipes, from how to make white sauce to how to prepare pastry and is an essential cookery book. It also features useful tips on saving money on food and fuel while cooking.  Priced at £4.99 it is available in all AGA Shops.
